Just a suggestion post. I was thinking that possibly adding a few races could color up the world a bit.
Firstly, perhaps the inclusion of a new category--Grunts. (Or something) Creatures with very limited magical or physical power that are generally found in servitude to one master of another. (This could be interesting to see someone create a character that "naturally" isn't strong--Unlike some of the races that could go either way. you would have to be inventive to rp with them.)
Goblin--An intelligent, diminutive race that lives across all of Melodia from the forests to the mountains. They are easily corruptible if promised power of riches, and tend to have a wicked streak that can kick in in the worst times. Goblins have been known to betray friends on a whim.
Imp--A failed spell. Imps are the physical bi-products of a magician's failed efforts. In a sense, literally bundles of energy accumulate after a magician bungles a casting. An imp is formed when the energy takes on the wizard's personality. Imps struggle to find purpose in life, and do not adhere to one specific group or territory.
Orc--Tall, gray skinned goblins that usually take residence in abandoned castles or desolate cities. They are not necessarily evil, but orcs constantly crave leadership, and therefore are taken over easily. They are fairly small minded, but they live for battle.
Animated--(Maybe an exclusive)Previously lifeless creations that were endowed through consciousness through one form or another. (Example: statue, mannequin) This is not necromancy. Animated magic cannot revive the dead. animated objects are very simple beings, and know absolutely nothing about the world around them after they are created. They are basically children that can resemble almost anything.
Undead--(Maybe an exclusive) A formerly living creature brought back to life through some form of magic or ritual. Unlike contemporary zombie images, the Undead usually takes on the personality of its former self. Nothing much changes except its extreme physical defenses (Complete with severed body parts being able to be re-attached) and its weakness to magic (which is increased)
Fairy--An extremely small, extremely powerful being that can be endowed with wings. Rumored to be the original source of magic, fairies wield a vast array of powers, but usually do not use them due to their child-like, carefree personalities.
Halfling--A creature that's "half" the size of a normal human. Usually very intelligent and brave, halflings make great thieves, assassins, and are extremely in touch with nature. They usually build their homes in a very natural, secluded region.
Also--Maybe there should be a thread that could include applications for character specific races or jobs. After being posting a custom job or race, the mods could review it to see if it fits story wise (As well as making sure its all...uh...roleplayingly correct.)
