Courtney rode though the Evershaw Forest on her white stallion. The Dryads never bothered her unless if they needed her help. she had be away from her hut for nearly a year now. She be doing her job as a ranger and wanderer though the land. She helped and did many things she could and was able. As usually her face doesn't show any emotions. It's not like she has any, for she does. She just doesn't want to show them. It was mainly due to the fact her last family member died when she was 12. It was really hard on her when her father, her last living family member, had died all those years ago. It was 22 years ago when it had happen. There were days, not long after her father's death, that she wished it didn't happen. But ti did happen and it hit very deeply. Like, before she became a ranger and a wander, her people talking to other wings about her and why her mother died. they all blame her for her mother's death, but she knows it's not true.
Her father told her that they don't know what really happen to her mother. Courtney trusts her father and her father always cared and loved her even if her mother died a minute after she was born. Finally Courtney pulled the reins back till the stallion stopped walking. Courtney got off and lead the horse to the fence yard in front of the barn she made for her stallion. Once the stallion was in the yard, Courtney closed and lock the gate. than she entered her hut. It was simple, it has the main room, where the dinning, living room and the kitchen are at. There is three other doors besides the front door. One leads to her own bedroom while the other two doors lead to extra bedrooms. Courtney took some logs and place them in the fireplace. With the permission from the Dryads, Courtney is allowed to burn wood. After lighting the fire, she sat down and took off the boots off and looked into the fire, thinking of the days before her father died, when she had a simple and normal childhood for a daughter of a blacksmith.
Courtney was so deep in thought, that she didn't hear her white stallion whinnying at someone coming towards her hut. Courtney stood up and spread her white wings out. Suddenly she stopped and listen as her stallion whinnying. She heard the footsteps coming to her hut. Courtney was close of grabbing her staff when a knock came. Courtney stood there. She decided against the staff, but touched her double dagger, that her father made for, and she went over to the door. She open the door ready for who and what they may want, either a fight or just to talk.
