Roughly a millenia and a half ago, in Ancient times, when the world was even younger than it is today, most Melodians were not religious - in fact, they didn't even know the Muses existed. Most did not care about how they arrived on the planet, others had their own ideas, but very few believed in a 'higher power' creating the earth they walked on.
In an ancient city (that was lost over time), there was a girl born from a Seraphim father and a human mother. At this time, not only were cross-racial relationships forbidden socially, but they were also dangerous for the child. Certain medical precautions that were meant to be used before the birth did not exist yet. The off spring was half-seraphim, half-human , christened Ambrosia.
As Seraphims were not as easy to kill, the mother was the one executed for this socially-forbidden birth. The father, able to withstand the attack of the townspeople due to his Seraph blood, escaped with his child and raised her in an abandonned tower by the sea. The mix of Seraphim and Human blood made it hard for Ambrosia to grow up, as she would succumb to sicknesses more easily than an average child.
Her father spent most of his time an energy taking care of her, as she required more care than a normal child. Food was scarce, as he and his daughter were bouth outcasts, but he sacrificed everything he had to take care of her. He could sense his own death approaching, and on the last day of his life, he stood tall on the top of the tower and prayed to the stars, having no one else to turn to. He didn't know that little Ambrosia was awake that night, and saw his final prayer before his death.
After that night, Ambrosia found that all the disabilities and conditions that came with her mixed blood had disappeared, and she in fact grew to be a healthy, plump woman. She did not think this a coincidence - she knew that something had cured her, and it all had to do with her father's prayer. Every night, she would climb to the top of the tower, where her father had died, and she would sing in a loud, low vibrating voice (that later became known as opera). She claimed that on certain nights, the moon would sing back - on three seperate nights she would see the faces of three different women, and they would sing out their beliefs to her.
It took her several years to confirm the dates - March 21st, October 31st, and December 24th (which later became known as The Three Melodian Eves). On these nights, for the rest of her life, she recorded what The Muses would tell her in a journal. several years after her death, the near-by town explored the abandonned tower and found her journal. The event of her and her fathers' escape from the town, which had taken place decades ago, was forgotten, so they took her body and the journal.
Looking through the journal, they followed the instructions written and also found about the Three Melodian Eves. They found out that everything that was said in the journal was true, and that there were indeed higher powers out there that had created them and their world. They didn't question why Ambrosia's body was still young and preserved as the day she died, and only found out years later that it was the Seraphim blood keeping her body like that. They couldn't believe that they had declared someone of mixed blood as a Prophet, but could not ignore the amazing records in her journal.
From that day, though interracial children are still discouraged, they became accepted in society, as the great Prophet Ambrosia was one. In order to honour her and her father and the hardships they went through, the moon of Melodia was named after her and became known as Ambrosia. The legend lives on today - this story is the most commonly told one in all of Melodia.
They say that if you return to the tower on any of the Melodian Eves, though it is now sealed off by a mysterious magic, you can hear the haunting voice of Ambrosia's melody through the ruins.
