Non-Player Characters (N.P.C.s) & Support CharactersObviously the world of Melodia is inhabited by many more than just the characters that have been created. Shopkeepers, villagers, bartenders, monsters - any of these kinds of people are considered NPCs. (Unless your character's profession is something like that, like Jaynus Anyone can control an NPC, but they should remain as minor characters. NPCs can stay in an RP for a fairly long while, but not long enough to be considered main characters. They may have names and active roles (i.e., showing the adventurers the way through a forest, giving them information about the enemy, etc.) but can't be used to the extent of one of your main characters. (i.e., Chaz the bartender can't go travelling with you and have a prominent role in the journey.) Support characters are very similar, but usually stay with the main character they are supporting. Support characters can be animal companions or just butlers that follow your character around. Like NPCs, they cannot have a prominent role in the RP, and should probably have minimal personality and lines so they are not considered a real character. (If you want a really fleshed out ... butler... then feel free to make an entirely new character to be a butler.) MOST IMPORTANTLY, they cannot have a post to themselves. Your post must always contain an action or line by one of your main characters, which can then be followed by an NPC or Support character (or vise versa). Happy RPing~
