Oronos maneuvered quickly to try to get out of Raiden's way, but found himself unable to move quickly enough due to his size. He held out a hand in front of him, just in case, but lowered it when Raiden stopped himself in time.
"Careful," he said, then smiled. "Oh, I'm... I'm not with the caravan. I only stopped to get a closer look and find out where they were traveling to. I'm a stranger here and a little lost..."
He looked up at the purple-haired girl yelling at home through the window, cocking an ear towards her direction to see if he could make sense of any of it, but alas--no luck. He looked nervously at Raiden, hoping he could enlighten him. "Do you have any idea why she is shouting at me?" he asked.

Raiden pointed straight up with his middle finger. "Her? I would imagine that she is drunk as a result of the awesome inn party we had yesterday." He swung his sword in a flourish and noticed that a piece of a man's nether regions were still skewed to his blade. A quick blast of fire rendered that disturbing image into nothingness. "Yeeeeeeeeeah...some party." He shrugged. "Best thing to do is to ignore her, or else throw a heavy object at her. I swear, that noise will drive banshees deaf..."
Remembering his conscripted duty, Raiden gestured at the caravan with a swing of his wrist. "This caravan is headed off to Aris Village to investigate a recent attack. I'm too sleepy to tell you exactly why, but apparently we're some sort of national police force. Or so I've been told." He yawned loudly and stretched his arms to emphasize the fact that he was too sleepy to be taken seriously. Raiden poked Oronos' lyre once. "Let me guess...you're a Shadower!"

Jay checked a few of the rooms - even attempted to wake up a few of his fellow teammates - attempts that were in vain, apparently, as the events of the day before had everyone effectively knocked out, and probably for a good few more hours. Hearing the clip-clopping of more hooves from outside, the Ascherite sighed and ruffled his platinum blond hair, deciding to make his way downstairs with what few allies he could.
Noticing Persha sitting at a table with a mug of coffee gripped with two hands (and hair looking like it had seen better days - specifically, any day aside from today). He sighed again, hoping she might just want to stay behind and "catch up" later. He couldn't see why she wouldn't want to, it was the perfect way to finally ditch the whole quest, which had been her intention for the longest time.
"I'm coming," said the Magus in question once Jay had explained the situation and laced his explanation with subtle hints that she'd be better off here than with them, "I - I feel like I need to get away from this city while I still can... something about white monkey fairies..."
Raising an eyebrow at that last part but chalking it up to the ramblings of a hungover teen, Jay quipped, with ill-concealed bitterness, "Why? Set anymore establishments on fire?" Persha didn't answer and simply took a long sip from her mug of coffee. Jay sighed and continued on outside, seeing Raiden chatting with a centaur he had not met before. Putting a hand on Raiden's shoulder to get his attention, he asked, "You ready to go?"
Persha had, however, exactly the intentions Jay had expected. She just thought it would be much easier to ditch the group during the hectic process of saving a village and adventuring than to stay behind, cooped up in an Inn with a much larger group (made up, just as well, with several people who simply loved to antagonize her). No, no, getting out now with the smaller, and much less demanding, group would only make things easier. She had had enough of this quest - though, this had been true since the second she had been thrown into it.

Lydia thanked the innkeeper after ordering a bit of toast and munching on it. She followed the others outside and looked around. The sky was clear - good for flying - and weather was pretty much favorable for the season. She introduced herself to Raiden, who she didn't think she had met the night before.
"Nice to meet you, I guess you're the newest member of our little troupe. I'm Lydia." She extended a gentle hand

Raiden took the hand and shook it in a similarly gentle manner. "Raiden's the name, and I suppose do-gooding's my game now." He once again bemoaned silently the strange quirks of fate which had brought him to this avenue in life. Then he remembered something, and withdrew a little book from seemingly nowhere. The Magus leafed through the pages before finding the proper folded back tab which served as a bookmark. "Ah, knew I was forgetting something."
He went around to everyone surrounding him and gave them the most piercing glances ever. It was one of those potentially awkward glances where you're unsure if there's something on the corner of your mouth, but multiplied in magnitude by 1000. He even stared down Oronos for a moment before jotting down some notes in the book and closing it up. "OK, let's go. Any investigation should be committed with thrice speed, lest any fresh evidence be spoiled."

Lydia's eyebrow twitched at the notepad Raiden had seemingly conjured from whereabouts unknown. She felt the familiar burning prickly feeling that she was being tested, a feeling she hated and thought had left behind with the rest of her days at the university. "Just what ... was that? She asked Raiden - trying to keep her voice gentle and curious rather than suspicious.

Raiden smiled a little. "It's my technique. Actually, some people call it magic, but even if it were it certainly isn't the kind of magic I do." He lit a small flame on the tip of his finger to emphasize this. "It's a fast way of getting a good read on people, and especially useful for work of...this nature." Again, he was kicking himself in the rear about having signed up for this wayward sort of job. Still...
"I suppose it's only fair to let you have a look. Your page only though."

Jay left the inn, Persha following tenatively in his wake, and noted that at the very least the journey would be comfortably warm. Keita appeared from behind one of the wagons, discarding an empty wooden bowl and greeting the group. Look directly at Jaynus, he asked, "This the group?" Following a nod from the Ascherite, he continued, "Time to saddle up and leave then, folks. Crack of dawn or not, it's a long journey to Aris. We can make it by evening, I reckon, but that might just be foolish optimism, given the circumstances..." Keita shook his head, "Clearly I'm not very good at pep talks. Let's just get on the road." He directed them to the last wagon belonging to the caravan, and evidently because it was the largest, being towed by four of the larger horses.
Jaynus beckoned to the others, his eye drifting to a notepad with some very ... interesting scribbles that seemed to belong to Raiden, but disregarding it.
Persha, meanwhile, clawed her hair with her fingernails through out Keita speech, in a vain attempt to comb it. Removing her circlet delicately, she shook her head and brushed her hair back before reapplying it and parting her bangs. Beauty was indeed a chore, and before the Magus could lament this any further, her senses were met with the sound of horses whinnying and the unfortunate smell that accompanied the beasts. "Such a luxurious life, I live..." she lamented before climbing into the wagon.

Adara had followed quietly. She climbed into the wagon too. It was something of an effort, with her tail, but she was tall, so she could manage the climb without too much of a problem. She lifted her tail into the wagon and shifted it close to her. It would be a little less comfortable to sit like that for the journey, but she'd see how much room she had when they got underway. Maybe she'd have enough room to spread out a little.

"Gentlemen." Raiden started with a flourish and jumped into the wagon, landing upright. He really didn't feel like sitting down; it was going to be squishy and uncomfortable, and it is very important to have a good atmosphere about you when you're going to be moping about the unfortunately interesting events of your life. He sighed and resumed his usual hobby of trying to encase a live fire in ice; it was something like meditation to him, really.

Adara looked up as Raiden jumped into the wagon. She gave him a quick, friendly nod. "Hello. Didn't we meet a bit before that fight broke out?"

Raiden gave his most winning smile. "Why yes, as I recall. I was with this other, large chap, ah..." He looked around, but could spot no sign of Moytura. Perhaps it was just as well. One unnoticing backswing from the fellow would put Raiden out of the game for quite some time. "Well, a trip of much interest awaits us, eh?"

"That's why I'm here." Adara shifted a little and settled a bit more comfortably. "Wandering around and killing monsters for people gets boring after a while."
