Kaz is seen laying in the grass on his back, idly looking up into the the clouds, sighing a bit. "Hmph... stupid Kankuro... always having to pick on me... 'your skills are lacking'.... 'you need to focus more on learning your techniques.' Blah, blah, blah... that fight-hungry old guy. All I want to do... is look up at the clouds."

Persha stamped her foot irritably as she was once again teleported to the Battle Arena. This new form of punishment was almost enough to get her to stop breaking rules. Almost. However, when she approached her 'opponent', she saw that it was no more than a young demi-cat boy, who looked to be around the same age as her. His eyes glazed over and he looked as if he had fallen deeply in love with the sky itself. Overall, she didn't think he seemed terribly dangerous.
"Uh, hello? Aren't we supposed to be fighting or something?" she asked impatiently, resisting the urge to simply conjure up ice cold water and let it fall over his face. "Let's get this over with! I'm already late for lunch, and my friends are waiting."

Kaz seems to wake up to Persha's voice. In the manner of a cat, he arches his back and yawns before standing onto his feet. He glances at the girl and places his hand on the back of his head. "Alright, alright... let's go. I'll let you attack first, if you like. It's not guaranteed that you'd land the blow, though... Nyah!~" Scratches at the back of his ear, purring some.

"Great!" she said enthusiastically, before letting the Kaz finish his sentence. She conjured up some water and let a stream of it blast from the end of her sceptre into the young Demi-cat's face. It was a shame, because she found him to be pretty cute, but she wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.

Using his smaller form's built in agility within his legs, he stepped to the side of controlled stream of water. "Ack.... why water?!" He says in midstep. He reaches into his side pocket, pulling out a small back circular object. "Now I'll demonstrate just how fearsome the shadows could be! The next time you see me, I'll be breathing down your neck!" He chucks the ball in between the two of them, having it land in the center. As the balls rests on the floor heavy clouds of smoke comes flowing out from two holes of the ball. The perimeter around them fills up with smoke, making visuals not so clear. Quite the little playground Kaz loves to play in... ot so, he hopes, unless Persha's got something up her sleeve.

Persha looked around wildly, completely caught off-guard by Kaz's sudden use of a smoke bomb. "Dammit... I should've known that a demi-cat would be crafty like this. Whatever, He can't be too tough..."She muttered, holding a hand to her mouth to keep the smoke out.
She glanced behind her, and then above her, and in all directions, waiting for Kaz to pounce on her. After a short while, she began gathering magical energy again. She let loose a stray blast of wind, and it uncovered a short path through the smoke - but this wasn't ordinary smoke. It kept recovering itself everytime it was cleared. So she set to work shooting off as many blasts of wind as she could to try and uncover the tricky Shadower.
However, it was easier said than done. With every path she would create, it would disappear just as she turned her back on it to make a new one. The never-ending smoke was getting to her.
"Dammit! Get your furry little tail over here so I can kick it all the way to Terrasol!" she yelled through the smoke.

He wasn't about ready to make a strike just yet. He watched her from a close distance, seeing her try desperately to clear the view up but, due to the mechanics of the fog itself, it just kept covering what she had blown away. "Nyaa~.... it must suck, hm?" His voice seemed to have come from her left side. "Not being able to see what you are trying to face..." His voice sound like it's coming from the right side, a bit behind her. "Aww... the smoke isn't lasting anymore... I guess I should strike, hm?" The voice sounded much closer... this time right in front of her, but, the voice trailed off again, sounding like it's running away from her. The clouds gradually get weaker, and with the hope of seeing her nemesis probably fills her thought, he comes from behind her, with his claws extending from his fingertips, attempts to swipe the Sceptre out of Persha's hand.

Persha yelped as she felt her sceptre released from her grip. Her opponent was smarter than she thought. Take away a sceptre from a novice Magus like her, and she'd have very little control over her powers. She decided to think the same way as he did - she had to take away his strength, rather than just attack his weakness.
A Demi-cat. A demi-cat shadower. She knew she had to attack his strength - his agility. Throwing herself down to the ground in a very un-lady-like manner, Persha made it look as if she was lunging for her sceptre. Instead, however, she wrapped her hands around Kaz's ankles.
Slowly, she began muttering a spell and focusing magical energy into the tips of her fingers. She didn't expect a spell like this to work without a medium to channel it through, but she still poured more energy into the spell. Slowly, with a soft blue glow, she saw the results of her spell. A strong, solid ice had frozen Kaz's feet to the ground, all the way from his toes to a little below his knees. She released her hands just in time for the spell to complete.

He shivers some as he eyes his feet being frozen to the floor in place. "Myu~!!! Too cold... too cold... it burns..." He snarled some as he sunk his claw into the sand and raised it quickly, slapping Persha in the eyes with the blinding sand. As dirty and underhanded as that was, he wasn't just gonna let her continue casting things while he was a sitting... uh... cat? He then starts clawing away at the ice, trying to release himself from his bind as he had hoped that Persha was too busy dealing with the sand in her eyes.

Persha let out a string of swears as her eyes teared up from the sand. "That ... little..." she swore some more, her palms pressed into her eyes. She attempted the smallest spell imaginable, a small spurt of water to help clear her eyes. It helped enough for her to open her eyes as much as a squint.
And again, she was pissed. She tried summonning up some fire magic, which she could only use potently when she was really angry. While Kaz busied himself with the ice, she scrambled around for her sceptre. Find it, several feet away from her, she focused her magical energy into it, letting a beam of flames shoot out of the end. It wasn't her best, but she hoped it would help.
Unfortunately, it did the opposite. The flames flew straight towards Kaz, but the heat radiating from them melted the ice around his legs into nothing more than puddles. Aside from a few singes, the fire spell had done nothing.
Persha swore again. Things just weren't going her way today.

"EEP!" Kaz yelped as he huddled over from the flames, waiting to be burned since he couldn't move. But, the flames happen to go into his favor as the ice melts from his legs. As soon as the ice liquifies, he dashes out towards the back corner in Persha's blind spot. "I don't want to make her bleed... just a clean shot that'll take the fight out of her." He thought as he dashed toward her. He straightens his hands and sends forward, looking to strike at the kidneys of Persha as he yells "This should be it!"

Persha fell to the ground, tears streaming from her eyes as the air was knocked out of her. Her eyes stung with more tears, but she kept her hand clenched on her sceptre, determined not to lose it again.
Breathing heavily and knowing that any attempt at a spell would end in disaster in her current state, she brandished her sceptre like a club and swung it over the head of the poor demi-cat, yelling a war-cry with one arm over her stomach.

He blinked some, seeing that he didn't put enough force into his blow to completely knock her out. "Darn..." he muttered just when he had Persha's sceptre come down, hitting him over the head. "GAH!" He groaned as he fell flat on his back in a dizzy state. His body twitched a little as a bump forms on his forehead.

Seeing the obvious effectiveness of her tactic, Persha proceeded to whack on the demicat repeatedly with her staff, thinking that perhaps she was more destined for using weapons than magic. As she raised her arm for the third time, however, she felt a shooting pain in her stomach that caused her to collapse to her knees, dropping the sceptre and forcing her eyes closed. Perhaps she had gotten a bit too excited with her staff.

Kaz noticed the girl plopping down to the floor after continuing her swings of the club. What she probably didn't notice in her moments of club-crazy woman was that he had moved his head out of the way of the last couple swings. "Silly girly, lady..." Kaz tip-toed to Persha and lightly pounced right on top of her. "Hee hee, you look pretty tired, pretty lady. Wanna call it a day?" Kaz said as he places one of his claws to her neck. "By the way... my name is Kaz.... wanna be my friend? Hee hee... Nyah~"
