Luna entered the arena with what seemed to her to be a childish glee. She loved the moment when the crowd was silent and the two oponnents entered the arena. It portrayed a sort of mystery that contradicted her sense of hate for superstition. It was pleasant, none the less. Luna loved the arena. She'd come here when she was a child and admire the sight of the warriors who came, sweat on their brows and blood swords in their hands. The word BRAVERY and maybe COURAGE flashed through her mind and she had admired it. She nevet met any of the warriors afterwards, or they might ruin her image of them.
Luna waited behind the iron gates as the grandmaster announced the fight. She felt the iron bars and realized that with a few sharp slashes of her swords, she might be able to break them. The notion of breaking bars also gave her pleasure. But the bars began to rise and she moved forward, ready to face the oponnent.

Jay walked forward with more confidence than he honestly ought to have had. Fighting was an interesting alternative to bartending, but a change of pace was always healthy.
His opponent was a girl, carrying a very dangerous looking sword. Now, experience had taught him not to underestimate girls, and to never underestimate girls with huge swords.
"So... shall we begin?"

(Im not going to be here until monday in an hour. Sorry, well continue when i get back.)
Luna drew her sword gingerly, weighing it in contrast to the weight the sun was putting on her back. An Ascherite? This would be fun. Wether she won or not, she would find it exciting. Luna, not afraid to make the first move, believed that in no matter what situation she could act accordingly. She spun the sword in her hands, then lenghtened it slowly, to the chain that it was attached to. At a proper length, she darted forward and to the side and back, zigzagging across the field and trying not to stay in one place too long. She never made a direct move to get closer to the ascherite. Then, she lashed out, aiming for the ascherite's legs, more with the chain then the sword. She was testing first.

Jay's reflexes were too slow - in his attempt to dodge the attack, he actually ended up tripping over the blade, leaving a shallow cut in his leg. Trying to ignore the stinging pain, he summoned enough of his Ascherite magic to heat his hand up to the point that it was almost burning. Dashing towards Luna, Jay stretched his arm out, lowered himself, and tried punching her in the stomach.

Luna felt the burning of the fist and instinctively moved back pulling the sword from the chain back, not before the front of her blouse had been burnt off, revealing a small part of her stomach. The rest was bruned to her unershirt.
Luna's first self-fighting commandment was to attack at a distance and keep the distance if it could be kept. She did not dislike close combat; quite the contrary, but she knew that it was safer to attack from a distance and that most people weren't used to dodging long, flexible objects.
Luna swung the chain and sword high again and circled the ascherite quickly, changing directions frequently. Then, she lashed out again, this time aiming for the Jaynus' chest.

Jay still felt relatively new to this whole competetive fighting thing, as the most he ever had to deal with were lowly thugs in his bar. Luna was a swordswoman of amazing speed and skill, and it showed. Her attack pierced his chest in his attempt to lunge back, and he felt the blade slide out of his skin, extracting blood, as he fell backwards, tripping over his own feet.
His breath ragged, he slowly got to his knees, his burning hand held to his bleeding chest. Not wanting to challenge his body any more than needed, he remained on his knees and simply lashed out with his whip in an attempt to entangle the Warrior's ankle.

Luna, after the seemingly two easy strikes landed on Jaynus, made the mistake of underestimating him. She had not moved nearly fast enough to dodge the whip and it was now wrapped around her ankle.

Jaynus let out a small breath of satisfaction at his last-ditch attempt, and knew exactly what to do with what little time it had bought him. He reached for a small waterskin on his side, uncorked it, and poured its contents - a good amount of scaldingly hot water - over his chest. It did not heal the wound, but washed out the blood and soothed his skin, giving him enough energy to get back on his feet.
Knowing he would not last long with his chest wound, he pondered tactics that might end the battle quickly. Cracking his whip, the entire length of it ignited in flames, like a tongue of flames wrapped around Luna's ankle.

"Gah!" Luna cursed as the whip burned her ankle. She quickly stuck her sword between the whip and her ankle to dislodge it. The pain in her ankle now handicapped her. She would not underestimate him again.
Luna began spinning her sword again, looking for an opening. She realized of course that the blow she had dealt was taking it's toll on the Ascherite, so she decided that to draw out the battle was the best idea.
The warrior began to swing the chain and sword at about mid distance between the two fighters, back and forth. She braced herself for the Ascherite to advance.

Jay bit his lip and tried to keep his breaths short and quick, as the more drawn out he made them, the more his chest hurt. There was very little to be done now that his opponent had adapted a deadly defensive stance; the blade swinging between them made it nearly impossible for him to get near her.
Knowing this, he decided to rid her of the blade. He focused his mind on the length of chain she held in her hand, and concentrated on heating the metal up. He knew that it would not fully ignite like his whip, but hoped that he could make it hot enough that she had a harder time swinging it around - or, better yet, dropped the weapon all together.

(Wow! Very inventive move!)
Luna was surprised to find the sword getting warmer, at first. When it began to singe, she cursed and ripped some cloth of her cloak, wrapping them around her hands. The metal was still incredibly hot, but it helped a little. Realizing her time was limited, too, she did the best she could to quickly close the distance between the two fighters safely. She swung harder then she had been before, tiring herself. She persevered and, when she was somewhat closer, she began to swing the chain madly. When it was swinging so fast that you could not see the sword in one place, she let it fly towards the Ascherite.
As it flailed towards him, Luna did the best she could with her burnt ankle to sprint towards Jaynus, hoping that the sword would finish him, but hopefully ready to finish him herself if the sword only distracted him. She knew disarming herself was extremely risky, but with the metal heating up she had had little choice.

Jay had not foreseen this result when he had made his previous move. Now, however, it seemed a deadly mistake to make. He had scarcely any time to act as the human flung her oversized blade towards him, and knew that his own attack had caused his undoing. With a last attempt at saving himself, he nimbly tried to escape the blade as it arched towards him, but felt it strike his back and knew that - even though he had saved himself from the worst of it - he had been defeated. ( That was a really good fight, Drakar Even though there was a huge hiatus in the middle of it xD But yeah, nicely done. )
