Martin gripped onto the makeshift glider strapped to his back, giddy that his new invention hadn't blown up or stopped functioning, as most of his works tended to do. Scanning the mountains below him, he squinted against the tinted glass of his goggles, trying his best to spot any signs of the Harpies that he had been told was in the area.
"Now where could those wonderful Harpy lovelies be, really, making me come out here like this; all I need is a few more feathers for my masterpiece and th-"
A series of loud screeches interrupted his mumblings before gust of wind veered his leathery flying contraption sharply to the right. A broad grin swept across his features as he glidded back onto his previous path, finding his prize. Using the conflicting upper wind currents to hover above the horde of attacking harpies, he noticed several travelers fighting their way through the mass. A purple mass of hair in particular caught his attention and he noticed a young girl seemingly not involved with the fighting.
"Well, it seems the duckies need some help now don't they?" Gripping onto the glidder with one hand, he sifted through his multitude of pockets to find a few of his vials, a gleam of excitement entering his eyes as he looked at the yellowish/green liquid inside them. "Now these pretties should do just fine, they're experimental, but everything needs to have a trial run sometime."
Dipping the glinder precariously he swooped down onto the group, pouring the insides of the vials onto a majority of the Harpies, giggling and crying out gleefully as he flew overhead.
Letting out a "Wheee!" of excitement he looked over his shoulder at his handywork, wishing he had been able to bring his cane with all his other vials inside. Within moments of the initial exposure however, instead of shrinking (as the alchemic mix inside the vials had intended) they harpies slowly began to grow, becoming double their size and towering over the group of adventurers.
"Guess that was the growing formula rather then the Shrink-a-dink elixir, woopsie."
